What Do You Have?

Exodus 4:1-2
2.  And the Lord said unto him (Moses) , 'What is that in thine hand?' And he said, 'A rod'.

2Kings 4:1-2
Elisha asked the window, “Tell me, what do you have in the house?” “Nothing at all, except a small jar of olive oil,” she replied.

Sometimes, we don't know how great that 'small' substance we have is until we put it to use.

Moses' rod might have looked ordinary, but it did wondrous things (parted the red sea, brought forth water from a rock, turned into a serpent, was a mighty instrument during the plagues)

Remember the widow with a 'small' jar of oil, I am very sure she didn't know that her 'small' jar of oil could fill several bigger jars until there were no more jars.

The gift that seemed to be the source of Joseph's predicaments was the same that brought him out of prison and in turn made him the prime minister.

The moral here is that you might not know how great the gift of God might turn out to be until you put it to use.

I have had people tell me that they don't have any gifts. I usually don't agree with them because there is always something for God to use in everyone. The problem then could be identifying what it is.
For those who fall in this category, the good news is that you can discover what it is by asking your creator, He who has deposited greatness in you.

To those who have discovered their gift(s) , read this:
2Kings 4:6 'Soon every container was full to the brim! “Bring me another jar,” she said to one of her sons. “There aren’t any more!” he told her. And then the olive oil stopped flowing.'

Note that the olive oil stopped flowing when there were no more jars. This means that the 'little' oil still had the potential of filling more bigger jars, only that there were no more jars. (think upon this!)

My question to you is: What has God put in your hand? Do you wonder how God might use you? See what He has given you. God equips people in various ways.

Offer to God in faith what He has given you, no matter how simple, and God will use it — sometimes supernaturally — to do His work.

I urge us to put to use every talent, every gift, every skill given to us and watch how these become great and wondrous tools for God to use.
God is asking you, yes you, 'WHAT DO YOU HAVE?'
